Developing GompeiLib

Developers who would like to change GompeiLib should test their changes by publishing their changes to maven local, like so:

$ ./gradlew publishToMavenLocal

developers can then test their changes in their project by using the maven local version of the project. On 190, our gradle files are already set up so you can run the following to use maven local:

$ ./gradlew build -PuseLocalGompeiLib --refresh-dependencies

Contributing to GompeiLib

Developers who would like to push changes to GompeiLib should never merge to main, always merge to development

Releasing GompeiLib

Developers who need to release a new version of GompeiLib on GitHub should:

  • Merge development to main
  • Create a new release targeting main
  • Tag the release using the following conventions:
    • MAJOR VERSION: any time the year changes
    • MINOR VERSION: any time the api changes
    • PATCH: any fixes that don't change the API
